The Parent Council Fund Raising committee held a Halloween party in the school hall on Thursday 29th October. The children had a fantastic time and we are hugely grateful to Moira and her team for the effort they put in.
Mrs Masson and Mrs Bremner took some of the older pupils to a cross-country event at Bught Park, Inverness. In the boys’ team we had Hugo, Kai, Colla, Sam and Toni. In the girls’ team we had Isla McArthur, Loulou, Grace, Maddie, Lisa and Caitlyn.
The teams did very well, we were especially proud of Hugo who came 61st out of 193, an excellent result for a small school like ours. Isla also did very well, coming 92nd out of 187.
We have a duty to ensure that information regarding Additional Support for Learning is made available to parents, professionals and young people.
To this end the ASL Information sheets, produced by the Highland Council’s Additional Support Service, along with CHIP+ have been updated. The 2015 copy is available on display in the primary school office. Please find the link to this information below.

The whole school has been getting Drama lessons from Amanda Luscombe from Eden Court. We get lessons for five weeks a term. At the moment the school is split into two groups to fit in with swimming lessons but, after the October holidays, we will have time for three lessons, so, one per class.
P4-7 has been learning about MacBeth which is very exciting and quite gruesome. P1-3 is learning how to use voice and action to retell the Roald Dahl version of Little Red Riding Hood.
We were visited this morning by Lisa and Ruth from RES (Renewable Energy Solutions). It was a lovely visit because they brought us a present! They brought us ten sets of fiction books along with a teacher’s book for each set. We are delighted as we really wanted some reading comprehension materials for the school. There are four sets for P1/2, four sets for P3/4 and two sets for P5/6/7.
P1/2 were very pleased to have a good look at the new books.
Welcome back everyone and welcome to our new blog!
I hope you all had a lovely, relaxing holiday. The children have certainly come back to school more than ready for the new school year. The teachers and PSAs are also looking very eager and refreshed.
The children have all settled into their new classes well, Ms Starr is delighted with her new P1s.
Swimming lessons for the whole school have commenced and we will have Drama on a Friday too. This makes Friday a busy day so we will therefore hold our weekly assemblies on a Thursday afternoon this term. PE with Mrs Masson for P3/4 and for P5/6/7 will be on a Thursday morning.
The classes will now be getting started on their latest projects; P1/2 will be learning about Thomas Telford and the Caledonian Canal, P3/4 will learn about the Titanic and P5/6/7 are studying WW2.
My day in the office is now a Wednesday, so if you need to see me about anything, please try to make an appointment or get in touch then.
Also, I would like to take this opportunity to ask that parents don’t take their cars into the school car park, it can get congested there and, for safety purposes, we need to keep traffic to a minimum. Also, please make sure that the junction at the entrance to school, by the bank, doesn’t get blocked.
Welcome to our new blog!
We are delighted to have our new blog up and running, many thanks to Mr Peers for all his hard work on this. We will be adding more and more detail to the blog so keep checking to see what there is. We want to have more blogging from the pupils so the blog will hopefully be busier.
