Our assembly had an Easter theme this week. P1/2 did a little play to show us what Easter is about. We looked at all the finely decorated eggs and we had some Star Writers, Achievement Leaves and Head Teacher Awards. We also received our certificates from the Lochaber Music Festival.
On Friday 24.03.17 pupils from the nursery, the primary and the secondary took part in Red Nose Day. We had children wearing red, children dressing up, teachers wearing red or dressed up, a bake sale and a primary talent show. We managed to raise a fantastic £212.17 for this good cause, well done everyone. Thanks too, to any parents, family or friends who sent in baking, it went down a treat.
On Friday 10th March, Stephen Mozier from “Grounds for Learning” came to visit. He looked at our playground to see what we could do to make the most of the large space we have. There seems to be lots of possibilities for small changes so that we can make the edges and corners of our playground more interesting and fun. Stephen spoke to members of staff, parents and pupils from both the primary and the secondary. We hope to come up with a sensible and workable plan. Many thanks to all who were involved in Friday’s visit, special thanks to Miss Starr who did all the organising.
I’d like to take the opportunity to thank Mr Peers, Mrs Fraser and P5/6/7 for the successful visit to Alltnachriche last week.
Thank you Sheree for going, we really appreciate that you attended and so willingly gave up three days and two nights of your own time to make it all possible.
Many thanks to Mr Peers, the staff volunteer for the trip, who also gave of his own time so that the trip could go ahead. Not only did this mean that Mr Peers was on duty 24 hours a day while away, but he also spent a considerable amount of time beforehand on planning and preparation.
Finally, thank you to the P5/6/7s who attended who were, unsurprisingly, a credit to us all with their good behaviour and good spirits, enthusiasm and engagement.
Please have a look at the presentation below.
Thank you for supporting this. Across Nursery, Primary and Secondary we raised £83 for Save the Children.
Our Craft Fair was a huge success this year, many thanks to all of you who supported it with raffle prizes, baking, coming along and buying the various wares the children produced. Thank you to the pupils who worked with such enthusiasm.
We raised around £650 which is wonderful. We did spend over £100 on craft materials for items to sell, but this profit has delighted us. The money raised will be used for Christmas expenses for the nursery and the primary.
We had a lovely Harvest Assembly this morning, and lots of children brought in food for the Lochaber Food Bank.
We talked about how there would be enough food for everyone if we were to share.
We had lots of awards at the assembly. Everyone who ran the Race for Life got a well-deserved certificate, and quite a few of Mr Peers’ class got awards for their effort and achievement at the cross-country on Tuesday. Molly also got a Head Teacher’s Award.
In Miss Starr’s class, Robynne was in the Golden Book, well done Robynne. Asya and Eden got Head Teacher’s Awards.
In Mrs Walker’s class, Morgan and Kieran got Head Teacher’s Awards.
