Adventures with the Gaelic Tree Alphabet 14th Nov 2016 – P1-4

As part of our trees for life project, we were taken on a tour of the forest via the alphabet of gaelic trees this week. In this highly interactive event, the children found out the gaelic names of several native trees as well as a number of products they provide to those who might live in the forest such as willow (suil) for boats, elder (ruis) for cordial, hazel (coll) for nuts and yew (lubhar) for wands. Thanks to Ariel Killick, the storyteller, for her presentation.
