The P5/6/7 class have put the finishing touches to their pointillism artwork. Pointillism is a painting technique using small dots of paint to build an image and was born out of the impressionist. By varying the density of dots and the mixtures of colour it is possible to create a huge range of distinct images.
It has been a really enjoyable project which the whole class has enjoyed. The quality of the artwork they have produced has been excellent. It is all the more impressive because the only colours the children had access to were red, blue, yellow and white. Every colour used in their painting had to be mixed individually.
